The daughter of public school special education teachers, Harvey is a graduate of Spartanburg High School and earned a degree in Communications from New York University. Harvey spent nearly a decade working with communities around the world to impact some of the most challenging issues facing children in the United States and abroad. She returned to her home state of South Carolina in 2017, where she continued her impact supporting nonprofits in South Carolina, and became involved in local politics in the Upstate.

Unlike our district’s current representative in Congress, I believe a woman’s health care decisions belong between her and her doctor — full stop — and that the Upstate’s economy should benefit the middle-class many, not the privileged few.”
